For this Fall 2024 studio project, I was challenged to design a home set in the year 2050—one that not only embraces the future of technology but also places sustainability and well-being at the heart of everyday living. My concept focuses on creating a space that feels like a true sanctuary. I wanted the home to support mental health and mindfulness through intentional design choices that promote calm, relaxation, and a strong connection to nature. Using biophilic principles, I prioritized natural light, fresh air, and indoor greenery to create an environment that feels peaceful and alive.
The materials I selected are durable and low-maintenance to make life easier in the long term, and the color palette—neutral tones and earthy hues—helps ground the space while keeping it warm and inviting. I also focused on blending natural textures with innovative materials to reflect the balance between nature and technology. Ultimately, this home is designed to grow with its residents. It’s flexible, nurturing, and environmentally responsible—reflecting not just a vision of the future, but a lifestyle rooted in care, balance, and adaptability.
